Information Sciences

Towards responsible digital transition & business

Information Sciences

The minor Information Sciences provides Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Information Sciences bachelor students with the theoretical framework and skill set that are necessary to be successful in the Information Sciences Master programme. The courses build upon the students’ technical background, and introduce topics around the theme of Digital Transformation and Sustainability, which is the focus of the Master in Information Sciences.

During the programme, students will take one mandatory course from the School of Business and Economics that is meant to help them develop an understanding of the core Business aspects relevant to Information Science. Further, students will choose four out of the six available constrained-choice courses from the Faculty of Sciences, Faculty of Humanities and School of Business and Economics. These courses are meant to further strengthen their knowledge in the business aspects of Information Science, consolidate their technical background, introduce the role of data digitalization in the humanities and social sciences, and provide them with an introduction to data representation and processing.

The courses in the minor are meant to introduce students to sustainability, from the perspective of sustainable development and PPP (People-Planet-Profit), and help students integrate their analyses into the design of innovative solutions for global sustainability challenges in a systematic and creative manner.
